Interpretive Scope:

Historic London Town & Gardens focuses on three main areas of interpretation: the history of London Town, the story of Historic London Town & Gardens, and our natural world.
History of London Town
Our interpretation of London Town’s history spans the colonial period through its years as the Anne Arundel County Almshouse and continues through the founding of Historic London Town. This scope also includes living history demonstrations that help bring the site’s past to life..
Historic London Town & Gardens:
The story of Historic London Town & Gardens begins with the organization’s founding and continues through the present day. This scope explores the development of the gardens, the creation of the visitor center and museum, the preservation of the site, and the archaeological work that has been completed and continues today.
Our Natural World
Our natural world interpretation focuses on the gardens, plants, animals, and ecosystems found throughout Historic London Town & Gardens. This scope explores the science and natural processes at work across the site and helps visitors better understand and connect with the environment around them.
